It’s been a particularly long and hard term for both staff and students alike but equally very successful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for all their hard work both in the class room and for all the extra-curricular activities that have been delivered and to congratulate the large number of students who have excelled and made the most of the opportunities they have been given. We’ve had many students do particularly well in their prelim exams, which bodes well for the summer and reflects the numbers attending the many after-school revision classes that staff offer. We’ve seen students perform brilliantly at concerts both on and off the island, participate in a large number of sporting events after school and again on the mainland; whatever and wherever the activities have been, the feedback we get from people we have worked with or members of the public has always been of high praise in terms of the behaviour and engagement of the students. We can all be justly proud.
Those students sitting exams this summer have a lot of hard work ahead of them. There won’t be an official Easter Holiday study school, it’s just not cost effective but Mrs Mitchell and Mr Pollock will be offering extra support during the first week (Maths – Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th April, Product Design – Friday 3rd April). After-school revision classes will continue after the holidays and, during study leave, there will be masterclasses for all subjects (see main page of website), which students must attend. Students are obviously still welcome to attend classes during study leave for additional support by their teachers and the library will also be supervised for students wishing to get on with their own revision. Please note that study leave starts on Tuesday 28th April and finishes on Tuesday 26th May with the new timetable starting on Wednesday 27th May.
I wish you all a very happy Easter.
